I agree that May Welland should be suspicious of Newland Archer asking her again to marry him sooner. I think that he is definitely starting to think about Ellen Olenska more, and therefore, wants to rush his marriage to May, hoping that this will cause his feelings for Ellen to disappear. Instead of trying to get May to marry him sooner, I think that Newland should be thinking about if he really wants to be with her, because I don't think he for sure wants to.
