Edith Wharton
Edith Wharton was an American author that was born on January 24, 1862. She wrote many novels and won a Pulitzer Prize for The Age of Innocence, a novel that many people consider to be her best one. In 1923, she was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from Yale University, and in 1930, she was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Letters. She continued writing novels up until her death from a stroke on August 11, 1937.
